The school has bought a fantastic den building kit and our Key Stage 2 children are being given the opportunity (weather permitting) to build dens in the wooded area on the field behind the Scout Hut. We have a rota in place so that each year group has priority to den build once a week, but children are welcome to come along on any day and join in, space permitting. So far, we have had dens built by attaching tarpaulins to trees with clips and elastic hooks; by tying ropes to trees and attaching tarpaulins to the ropes and by tying sticks together and making tepee style tents. The children are very creative and are given free rein (supervised by Mrs Blackaby) to test out their ideas.
