Head Teacher’s Message
Welcome to our website! I hope that it gives you a flavour of our wonderful school and the great work that happens within it every day.
I am very proud of the children, staff and governors at Waterbeach. Together we have created a school which has a community focus and develops the “whole” child. Our children are a joy to be with.
Ofsted agreed with us during our inspection in November 2019. The school maintained its status of a “good” school. The report states:

“Waterbeach Community Primary School is a caring and friendly place. Staff help pupils to enjoy school, work hard and learn. Pupils get on well with each other, their teachers and other staff. They know that they can talk to staff if they have any concerns and that they will get the help that they need. “
Our mission statement
Our school encourages all our children to grow and to thrive in a supportive, knowledgeable and diverse community where each is inspired to learn and discover through rich and varied experiences.
Delivering our vision:
Each child will:
- Be inspired to learn, to explore and to discover
- Be safe and healthy.
- Be encouraged to develop a growth mindset
- Explore the values needed for their life ahead - “standing tall” in the world around them
- Be confident, be curious and be critical thinkers
- Belong to, and contribute to, our community
We will achieve this through:
- Learning to manage ourselves; playing and working together and understanding our feelings
- Learning to take responsibility and be accountable
- Expert staff who put our children first
- Aspirational leaders who champion the school’s vision
- A safe, purposeful and welcoming environment
- Having the community at our core with pupil agency, joint activities and village events a valued part of school life
